Goober FrickenButt

Given to me by my niece, Sloppy FarkleHump. Here is your dose of humor... Follow the instructions to find your new name. The following is excerpted from a children's book, Captain Underpants And the Perilous Plot Professor Poopypants, by Dave Pilkey, in which the evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names... (If they're hard to follow it may help to copy and paste in word. I couldn't get it to separate like I wanted.) 1. Use the third letter of your first name to determine your New first name: a = snickle b = doombah c = goober d = cheesy e = crusty f = greasy g = dumbo h = farcus i = dorky j = doofus k = funky l = boobie m = sleezy n = sloppy o = fluffy p = stinky q = slimy r = dorfus s = snooty t = tootsie u = dipsy v = sneezy w = liver x = skippy y = dinky z = zippy 2. Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half of your new last name: a = dippin b = feather c = batty d = burger e = chicken f = barffy g = lizard h = waffle i = farkle j = monkey k = flippin l = fricken m = bubble n = rhino o = potty p = hamster q = buckle r = gizzard s = lickin t = snickle u = chuckle v = pickle w = hubble x = dingle y = gorilla z = girdle 3. Use the third letter of your last name to determine the second half of your new last name: a = butt b = fart c = face d = nose e = hump f = breath g = pants h = shorts i = lips j = honker k = head l = tush m = chunks n = dunkin o = brains p = biscuits q = toes r = doodle s = fanny t = sniffer u = sprinkles v = frack w = squirt x = Humperdinck y = hiney z = juice Thus, for example, George W. Bush's new name is: Fluffy Chucklefanny. Remember that children laugh an average of 146 times a day; adults laugh an average of 4 times a day. Put some laughter in your day.

Wedding Weekend

Ok all you complainers: I am updating my log! I promise I really have done some things since I last blogged. I'm not good with the pictures and I think they make for a more interesting post. So, since I don't have pictures I don't blog. Bryce is anti-picture so I go and enjoy trips to Lexington for the 4th of July, celebrating birthdays with friends and family, etc without pictures. I'm just keeping those memories to myself. Ok, so I'm selfish...Think what you would like. :)
Scott (my brother and last of the siblings to tie the knot) got sealed August 2nd in the Salt Lake City temple. Trisha (the lucky girl) actually had the opportunity twice to reject Scott, but she must really love him to say 'yes' each time. Thanks Trisha, for making Scott feel good about himself :) Now for some nostalgia...
Girl's Day out. Playing hard getting a mani/pedi. :)
There were 6 of us so they had to split us up. I'm trying to stop jerking my feet away from the lady sanding my feet. It tickled!
Getting pampered makes you hungry. Our family met up with Trisha's family for some awesome food at Bajio. Taryn and I shared a fantastic Mexican pizza. Mmmmmm!
Gavin had his sweet kicks on. This kid wears these boots everywhere. So, of course he got his picture taken a couple times -- he is a stud, after all. the boots topped it off :) The reason for the season! Trisha and Scott coming out of the temple. They are excited and we are excited. It's all for you Trisha that I searched for hours for brown and yellow clothes. It was for you that I almost had my life threatened at the mall. But it was soo worth it. All that and I still couldn't find a brown dress. You'll notice I'm in a skirt and shrug for the over all illusion of brown head-to-toe. Trisha still likes me so I guess we're good. Gavin and Grandpa! "PopPa" in Gavin. :) What a loverly candid shot! I'm just doing the Miley Cyrus pose. Peace. Ladies in Brown! Tricia did have a really cute dress but unfortunately did not make it in the picture. Gavin had to take a nap. What a selfish child...it's ok Tricia, I understand. The cake lady had a wedding to go to herself and thus couldn't stay and put the flowers on the cake. Lucky for us (and especially lucky for Trisha) we have our secret weapon: Taryn! Jen was a great project manager on this one as well. :) The rest of us kept right on partying and Grant took the opportunity to serenade us at the microphone. "Brown chicken, brown cow..." I dedicate this picture to you Grant. That was awesome. The cake! Yeah, he's special :) I just liked this picture. Couldn't play favorites so here's Tim and Tricia. Tricia's mad that she has to share her name...poor Tricia... My glamour shot. Why would I not post this!? Sorry boys, I'm already taken. :)

Storms of '08-Double Rainbow

We've been having crazy winds and tornado producing storms in the Metro Atalnta area and I ran across some pictures I took earlier in the spring. This was the double rainbow after we had some tornado warnings and hail. I know it's hard to see in the picture, but both were very clear and distinct with human eyes. What was even more neat was that we could see the complete arch from our back yard. It looked like it went from one end of the neighboorhood to the other. Really cool. I did attempt to take a picture of the full double arch but none of them are very visible, so I'm not posting them. I will post pictures of the hail as it was coming down. I only got one picture before Bryce made me come back inside...at least he loves me more than pictures.

Listing my accomplishment

This past Saturday I decided I was going to conquer the popcorn ceiling in the last two bedrooms and the last bathroom. And I did it. The ceilings are not dated anymore and the dirty and very dusty part of decorating the house is finished forever. Forever. What a great feeling. :) I do still need to prime and paint the ceilings, but I'd much rather paint than sand. Who's with me?!

I treated myself

We hung something on the wall!!! My mom gave these sketches (if you enlarge the picture you may be able to actually see them) to Bryce and I when we were first married and attempting to decorate Bryce's cute little house. I used really cheap diploma/document frames and during the move I ended up breaking a couple of the frames. I finally got them reframed and did some nice matting with them. I really like them. I saw the wall of colors to choose from and couldn't decide which to mat them with. Bryce picked these two colors out in the first minute. I had no idea what to do, so I trusted him and I think they came out great! Thank you Bryce. Tammy found these sketches at some yard sales. They're pencil sketches mostly of landscapes from pacific islands where my grandpa was during World War II. I think they're just kinda neat. I love them now that they're matted. I like them so much I think I'll post a couple more pictures.

Surprise! It's a girl..

Bryce realized how much he really does want a cat and I called a few pet stores, read a few ads online and then dropped it. About 3 hrs later Bryce said, "So, did you find you a kitty?" So I looked again for cats in the Covington area instead of up by Atlanta. Hillbilly Pets. Yes, Hillbilly Pets is the name of the place (I can't say store b/c it was definitely not a store) where we found her with a few other kittens for free. The name is perfect for the place. It was gross. We feel like we saved her, it was so bad. So, now we have a kitty. She's been really good, fun to play with, skittish though b/c it's new. Bryce says she's awesome and talkative. She meows and makes cute little noises when you talk to her, like she's talking back. Pretty cute. We have just named her Jamba.

Bryce wants a cat but not the responsiblity

I went shopping this morning at Wal-Mart and out front there were a couple kids with some kittens they were trying to give away. I know how much Bryce likes his cats and they were pretty cute, so I called him to ask him if he wanted me to bring one home. Me: "Hey, there're some kids with kittens they're getting rid of....Should I look at bringin one home? They're pretty cute. Do you want a kitty?" Bryce: "(in a totally disinterested, unexcited voice) yeah? um, no." So, I did not bring home a kitty. When I get home... Bryce: "Where's the kitty?!" I told him I didn't bring him home a kitty since he didn't sound so interested in them, and if he was that interested in them we could go back and look. So, we ended up going back to Wal-Mart to see if they were still there 2 hrs later and they weren't. (It took us 2 hrs to go back because he was telling me I had to go by myself with out him and bring the cat back so it would be my cat and not his and I told him it had be a together thing.) Bryce told me that he didn't want to have it as his kitty because he doesn't want the responsibility of it, so if it claws stuff he could say "your stupid cat" because it would be mine since I brought it home. So, now I know if there are cute kittens, Bryce wants one but he won't tell me that. He also told me for future reference that he likes grey and black cats over calico or orange ones. :)  I'll be sure and keep that in mind.

Don't put small items on top of your dryer

We ripped the vinyl flooring in our laundry room Saturday. (Both front legs.) I say we because Bryce pushed before I'd lifted the front, so it was team work. Or really the lack of. :) This all happened because I dropped an AA rechargable Alkaline battery down the dryer's lint trap. We're still not really sure what the batteries were doing on the dryer, but that's irrelevant now. What happened, happened. So, Bryce got to take the back of the dryer off and undo tons of little screws to get to the battery, but we got it! There was also a loose screw down the vent. So, to make the best out of the situation we cleaned out some lint that had gathered in the back of the dryer while it was all open. Our dryer is so clean and lint free now! We also have a new rule: Don't put small items on top of the dryer. I recommend this one, especially if your lint trap is on top of your dryer instead of inside the door. Maybe we should just tile the laundry room...

Pictures as Promised

Few, if any of these rooms are actually completed - most still need window treatments and/or things hung on the wall. I've got a bathroom and two rooms that need the ceiling sanded, primed, and painted to say the least. Then we'll get to the walls and molding. We're working out a weekend to borrow a LittleGiant ladder so we can paint our stairwell and finish it with stripes along with finishing the upstairs hallway. We're just taking it in strides

The much needed fan to help cool down the computer and its numerous components. You can tell I need to cut in on the ceiling around this one since the base is smaller than the previous light. We'll get to that :) This room is not often above 80 thanks to this wonderful fan.My computer cornerGuest Bedroom nicknamed the Hilton Inn

I apologize for the ladder, but we were very excited to take the finished picture of the molding
