BOSTON!

You know I went to Boston, so here're the pictures from it. My super awesome sister invited me out for a weekend while she was there for work. I flew in Friday fresh from rappelling for half a day with the YW, then spent all day Saturday with Jen and flew out Sunday morning at 5 something to get back home in time for my lesson in YW's. That's what I'm talking about! I had the free hotel room because of her and she had the car so we drove to the train station and rode the T (commuter train) into the city and walked. Then took the T back out. We drove through the "big dig" from the airport tot he hotel. We walked and walked and walked all over the city. We should've had a pedometer on us. We had a canoli on hanover, saw parts of the rivers/harbors, and ate in their Little Italy, saw some super cute neighborhoods (streets of buildings) and the really neat old streets and historic landmarks were mixed in. We started out following the Freedom Trail and took in some shopping on the side at DSW, Aldo, and H&M. We found some really neat streets and one was all shopping and dinning. Too bad we found that one at the end of the day when our feet were tired. I really liked the Swan pond in the public gardens. There were a couple of weddings in the park while we were there. Enjoy the pictures.
Breakfast was the best! Panera bread was the best way we could've
started our day off.
Orange juice with bac
on, egg, cheese sandwich and a s
ausage, potato thing. super nummy.
Start of the Freedom Trail in Boston Commons. There were some mighty fine mounties there so we snaped their photo.
In the nice pretty park. They had swan boats you could ride on.
I AM George Washington...
Can you find my head? These flowers were so tall and neat looking - like out of a Dr. Seus book.
CHEERS!
There really was a General and he rode a horse and his last name was Hooker.
This was a neat cemetary with lots of old tombstones: John Phillips, First mayor of city of Boston, 1822; Samuel Adams, 1722-1803 and the remains of the vicitms of the Boston Masacre, 1770.
A cool building, a neat church in the middle of newer buildings, and where I would live...
I was trying to be like Napoleon Dynamite on his wild stallion - not quite right....Jen's just cute.
Lunch time! It was sooo good. And huge portions. We shared.
It was really good.
One side of the city on the water.
Canoli on Hanover St. Mike's Bakery: you know this place is good - it had a crazy line.
We love the roof top gardens. The church used to signal Paul Reveere and a statue of Paul Reveere...one if by land, two if by sea. This is across the street from the harbor pictures above.
Water on the other side of the city. There was a nice park as well.
Another cool building in the middle of the more modern.
Down the center of the street. Nice walk way leading you to shopping. :)
Commonwealth Ave I believe it was.
The shopping. Super cute - Newberry St.

Molly's Engaged!!!!

'bout time. My friend from high School is engaged and I'm so excited about it. I was able to be in our home town for another friend's wedding and was priviledged to be with her, a couple other brides maids, and her future mother-in-law, when she found THE DRESS and we got our brides maid dresses. I will have a jacket or added top to the dress. Any ideas, let me know.
Congratulations Molly!!

Your Birthday Present is in the trunk

Dylan had his brithday! so we decided to go crash it, say hello, and give him a little celebratory present. As we started into their neighborhood we spotted a snapping turtle crossing the road. I stopped to avoid hitting it and Bryce decided it would be great to pick it up and take it with us to the party. What turtle doesn't enjoy a cupcake once in a while?! So, we picked him up. I apparently really stink at taking videos on my camera, because I had Dylan jumping around the car yelling about how big the turtle was an being excited about the fact that there was a snapping turtle in my car's trunk...his friends enjoyed it as well...You can see Dylan next to the turtle at the start of one video and then you can hear kids (while watching a very sickening, motion sickness inducing picture) telling each other to put their head by the turtle's mouth and to poke it.Also, for those of you who don't know how to catch a snapping turtle, we have included a video of Bryce demonstrating this without spilling one drop of his soda. :)

We finally got our Christmas present

Thanks Mom and Dad L. and Mom and Dad H. for bringing it down. Great team work! This lawn furniture made it's long trip from Bowling Green, KY to Covington, GA in only 4 or 5 months. We are using it and enjoying it. Thanks!!

Food For Thought

I cooked salmon and topped it with soy sauce and pineapple...that's what the stuff is that looks like baby food :) It was pretty good. I also made Taryn's crescent roll receipe. Extra goodness.

It does snow in GA, can you believe it?!

I will say this week and today in particular have been gorgeous and where we should be in temperatures for March. Sunny, nice breeze and in the lower 70's. GORGEOUS! However, one week went freakish on us. We had a week mostly full of rain, then sunny warm, high 70 degree on Friday, and Saturday, then Sunday it decides to sleet, then snow hugh flakes for hours on end. Some areas had almost 10 inches of snow and we had probably 4 down here. Sweet. Monday, we were priviledge to forge our way to work on snow, slushy roads, with some ice under from freezing left over rain puddles.

St. Patty's a wee bit late...

I'M KEEPING THE TRADITION ALIVE! I love the corned beef meal Mom ALWAYS fixed on St. Patrick's Day. Last year (also my first at preparing it all) I went all out with the cabbage in the colecannon and the extra cabbage on the side - will not go all out with the Irish soda bread *eek* - and ate 4 hours after getting home from work. This year, I simplified - plus, Bryce didn't like the colecannon b/c it had cabbage in it - and did the meat in a crock pot (definitely the way to go) and came home to only mashing potatoes. I also did the Irish cookies! Still really delicious and so much easier for only 2 people. i was excited to have corned beef sandwiches for lunch the next day or two, but we ate all the meat. All that's left is a bit of mashed potatoes. Thanks Mom for starting this awesome traditional meal! A belated Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!! (oh, as a side note, we did both remember to wear green and Bryce went all out with a green on green striped shirt. I'm so proud of him.)
