Short wish list

It's a good thing I do have some self control and realize that clothes and shoes are not the only things that make me happy...there are bags and accessoreis too.  :)

But they do make me smile!

Saturday Mornings

Saturday morning when we sleep in as long as we want and then eat a tasty breakfast - are my favorite.  It's quite the occasion because I actually cook.

I wish I'd taken some good pictures but Bryce was mocking as usual so I quit and this is what I was left with that wasn't blurry or crooked. :)

I made Bryce some delicious (and beautiful) scrambled eggs with green chilies and wrapped with slices of bacon inside the tomato and basil tortilla.  He said very confidently that it was "really good."

I made myself some French Toast - with a twist.  I used Cinnamon Raisin bread.  Yeah, now you're jealous.

MMmm mm.

Un-American Memorial Day

You have to grill on Memorial Day Weekend.  Isn't that law?

We thought it was.  So for dinner we had Italian sausage thawed and ready to go for the grilling but as Bryce announced, "Uh, we're not going to be grilling today."  We weren't going to be grilling today.  My first thought was we were out of propane or spiders or something gross and/or creepy was in there.

whirly dirly winds for Mother's Day

Alabama was hit with some tornados and Bryce - being the thoughtful giver he is - volunteered us to go help alongside 300 others in the clean up efforts.  Happy Mother's Day!  It's ok, I'm not a mother yet and if if I was I'd probably want to go to get away from the kids...haha.

We didn't take any pictures while we were there unfortunately, but it was pretty wild to be driving along and then there's a section where the trees are snipped and bent and then on the other side it looks like nothing happened.

Here are some aerial shots taken by a pro.

 Most of the work was moving trees and limbs, and cleaning up remains of homes.

Now, I know what you really want is pictures of our hotel room.  Our option was to camp in the church's yard or a hotel.  Obvious choice. :)  Thank you Oxford for having decent hotels to choose from.  We chose a Hilton Garden Inn.

Sweet Goodies for your Eyes

I passed the white set with their fancy wheels on Friday.  Monday had a brand new set to feast one.  I couldn't not share!
